When is the riding school closed?

The Riding School is closed on: Memorial Day, Easter Sunday, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.  Lessons that would normally fall on these days will not be rescheduled.

How will I know if a lesson is canceled due to weather?

Call our answering service at 594-0760.

How are canceled lessons rescheduled?

All lessons canceled due to extreme weather conditions will be rescheduled.  We do our best to schedule make-up lessons in a timely manner.  However, it may take several weeks to accomplish this.  We appreciate your cooperation when weather conditions beyond our control require rescheduling lessons.

When is payment due?

Payment is due by the tenth (10th) of every month.  If monthly payment is not received by the tenth (10th) of the month, a $15 late fee will be assessed.  Checks can be mailed to James River Riding School, 414 Huguenot Trail, Midlothian, VA  23113.

What if I know we will miss a lesson?

We require 24-hour notice of an upcoming absence to grant a make-up lesson.  Please call our Office Manager to notify us of any lesson(s) your rider(s) will miss.  When we receive notification, we will reschedule the missed lesson.  We do not offer "credits" for missed lessons as our expenses are fixed year-round.  We depend on this budgeted income to keep the riding school in operation (our horses fed, and in good health).

Are private lessons available?

Forty five minute semi-private lessons with 2 riders, and thirty minute private lessons may be requested, and will be scheduled as resources allow.
